The village of Monte Bre consists of single houses dispersed evenly across the landscape without a centre to connect them. In this project, we designed a new village that integrates into the existing structure of Monte Bre. The 5-star hotel resort has 17 hotel suites and 53 hotel apartments, two restaurants, bar, spa with indoor and outdoor pools, bakery, cafe/bar, conference rooms and kids clubs.
By collecting data from the site and its environment, we can create, evaluate and optimise the design. Using generative design, we analysed datasets such as solar radiation, views, surfaces, and costs, allowing us to create valuable, smart strategies, and enjoyable atmospheres. We were able quantitatively to evaluate the various iterations generated and ensure architecture of optimal quality. The site was fortunate to have speculator views of the nearby lake, so in this case, it was essential to ensure each unit has excellent views. Hence, we carried out a view analysis and optimised the location and rotation of the unit accordingly.
